dsgnrswrkshp (pronounced Designer's Workshop) is a community led platform empowering the black and underrepresented maker population OF all ages and career stages within the built environment.

HOW WE DO THIS

We cultivate education, mentorship, critical wellness experiences, services, and products.

Through thoughtful curation in partnerships with leading design firms, institutions, organizations, vendors, and inner-city schools, we offer programming to deepen our access within design, business management, and the arts. Offerings include workshops, seminars, creative production, social events and more!

OUR WHY

3% of all designers are Black or of African Descent, despite making up 13% of the American population. We’re on a mission to increase representation, humanizing design by and through community.

Core to our mission is leading this industry as a subject matter expert on building the future of design – including the profession, the public it serves, and the unique, diverse voices, and contributions that have otherwise gone unspoken.
